Assam the capital city of Guwahati, is famous for its largest Tea plantation.Famous for Kamakhya Temple, a centre of Tantricism, the Kamakhya Temple dominates the life of Guwahati, as much as does the great Brahmaputra River. The temple, situated over Neelachal Parbat or Kamagiri in the city of Guwahati is one of its several religious landmarks.

Shillong capital of Meghalaya is the favourte holiday destination.The scenic Khasi Hills resembles the Scottish Highlands amidst smoky blue hills thick with pine and orchids, singing brooks and crashing waterfalls. The Shillong Peak (1965mtrs) offers breathtaking views of the city spread out against its glorious hill slopes. Amongst the popular waterfalls, close to the town is the Elephant Falls.

Cherrapunjee is the wettest place on earth.numerous falls are most impressive during the steamy monsoon season when awesome torrents of water plunge down to the Bangladeshi plains. The drive will give a spectacular view of deep gorges and the rolling hills luxurious with tropical vegetation that boast an innumerable variety of ferns, moss and orchids. At Cherrapunjee, explore the lime- stone caves.

Dawki  – The small border town Dawki of Meghalaya is popular for its famous Umngot river and a beautiful suspension bridge. It is a major tourist destination.It’s beautiful, serene and crystal clear.

Nameri national park is famous for its elephants and other animals including tigers, leopards, gaurs, wild pigs, sambars, etc. and also for being a bird watchers paradise.

Kaziranga National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, not just because it is a “significant natural habitat for conservation of biological diversity”, but also because it’s home to “threatened species of outstanding universal value”. From migratory birds to the largest snakes in the world, you come across an amazing variety of wildlife amidst its equally amazing vegetation, which is characterized by grasslands, thick evergreen forests and trees of various kinds.
